Ask Your Burning Questions: COVID-19 Variants and Vaccines
The National Indian Health Board (NIHB), is hosting the second event in the COVID-19 Ask Me Anything (AMA) Series. Once again we find ourselves confronting another COVID-19 variant and much is still unknown. Native youth and parents, young people, Tribal leaders, and Tribal community members are invited to join the AMA to ask any questions they might have about COVID-19 variants or vaccines to an expert from the CDC.

Who should attend?
The AMA is open to any interested person, but is likely most relevant to Youth, parents and caregivers, Tribal leaders, Tribal public health professionals, Tribal health departments, Tribal healthcare personnel, and those who want to learn more about COVID-19 variants and vaccines.
Speaker: CAPT Holly Van Lew, PharmD, BCPS
CAPT Holly Van Lew is clinical pharmacist at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, within the Indian Health Service. She is the immunization coordinator at her medical center where 45,000 vaccines are administered yearly. She manages all procurement, storage, and distribution of adult and childhood vaccines. She is a national trainer for multiple Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician Immunization Certificate Programs, training over 1,000 pharmacists, students and technicians to administer vaccines. CAPT Van Lew works at the local, regional and national level to educate pharmacists, providers and nurses about immunizations, with a focus on addressing patient vaccine needs at every encounter. She is currently the IHS COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force Deputy Lead, standing up an agency vaccine program to distribute, track and administer COVID-19 vaccine. Holly lives in Phoenix with her husband, 2 young daughters and troublesome puppy.
