23 new cases and one recent death related to COVID-19
WINDOW ROCK, Arizona – On Saturday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 23 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and one recent death. The total number of deaths is now 1,540. A full report will be available on Monday.
“The safest place to be is home here on the Navajo Nation. Continue to be very cautious to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Please take precautions, get fully vaccinated, get your booster shot, and wear your mask in public. We are in this together and we must do everything we can to protect ourselves and others,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.
Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.
“Thank you to all of the health care workers and first responders who continue to serve and protect our people during the holiday weekend. We appreciate your hard work and sacrifices. Please do everything you can to help them by taking precautions and reducing the spread of COVID-19. Keep praying and take safety measures,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
