On Saturday, the state of Arizona reported 3,424 new cases. Utah and New Mexico will report weekend case numbers on Monday. “Stay local, stay safe. In cities and regions near and around the Navajo Nation, there are much higher numbers of Delta variant cases reported. The safest place to be is at home here on the Navajo Nation. We strongly urge all residents to stay local this weekend to reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19. Please mask up, get fully vaccinated, and do not travel off the Nation this Labor Day weekend. Be safe and continue to pray for our frontline warriors and those fighting COVID-19,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.

Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.

“Please remain diligent and keep taking safety measures to keep yourselves and others healthy. We are in this fight against COVID-19 together, so please be safe and continue to support one another. Keep praying for our people and our communities,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
