On Thursday, May 13, 2021, the U.S. Department of the Treasury will host an Information Session on the distribution of $20 billion State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds to Tribal Governments. This Information Session will provide an overview of the process of applying for these funds through the Treasury Submission Portal. The session will also allocate time for a Q&A period, however Tribes are encouraged to send questions in advance using the registration process.
NAFOA strongly urges Tribal Leaders to take part in this Information Session which will further explain the procedure for acquiring these much-needed funds. This session will also underscore the importance of, and provide guidance for, meeting the deadline for requesting the first payment on May 24, 2021 at 11:59 pm PST along with the deadline for requesting the second payment on June 7, 2021 at 11:59 PM PST.
