“Reports indicate that COVID-19 cases have increased in the state of Arizona in the last couple of weeks. This data should encourage all of our Navajo Nation citizens, including those living in Phoenix and other areas, to continue taking all precautions even if you are fully vaccinated. We have to remain diligent and increase our vaccination percentage to reach our goal of community immunity. Please continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, wash your hands often, avoid large in-person gatherings, and get vaccinated if you haven’t already done so,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.
Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines during drive-thru events or by appointment. If you would like to receive the vaccine, please contact your health care provider for more information for your Service Unit.
“The vaccines are effective against COVID-19, so please consider receiving the vaccine if you haven’t already. We have to be supportive of one another and keep praying for our communities. Community immunity is our goal,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
