“Our condolences and prayers are with the families that have lost loved ones to this invisible monster in our communities known as COVID-19. Many families are grieving the loss of their loved ones. We have to remember that it is up to each and every one of us to take precautions to prevent any more loss of lives. Person responsibility is ultimately what determines whether or not we have another surge in new cases. Our health care experts constantly caution the public and encourage our people to stay home as much as possible, wear masks, avoid large in-person gatherings, and to practice social distancing, but if our people choose to do otherwise then it’s more likely that we will have a spike in new infections. Please adhere to the advice and of our public health experts,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.

“We have to stay the course and keep fighting COVID-19 together. If you feel you have symptoms that might be related to COVID-19, please plan ahead and get tested. While you await your test results, please quarantine yourself until you receive the result. The vaccines are highly-effective and we encourage everyone to consider getting vaccinated to help move us toward herd immunity,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
