Haaland Co-Sponsors Bill to Fund COVID Testing & Tracing
• H.R.6666: COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, And Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act
Albuquerque, N.M. – Congresswoman Deb Haaland (NM-01) is co-sponsoring the COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, And Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act. This bill would establish a grant program run by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to allow stakeholders to fully mobilize testing and contact tracing efforts.
“As our state is facing another wave, testing and contact tracing important to ensuring New Mexico workers can return to their jobs and kids can get back in the classroom. I’m proud to work with Congressman Rush on the TRACE Act so we can sustain health centers and training programs throughout the state,” said Congresswoman Deb Haaland.
Through the TRACE Act Community Health Centers, School Based Health Centers, academic medical centers, non-profits, and other entities who would hire and train individuals to operate mobile testing units, as well as outreach in hot spots and medically underserved areas would be eligible for grant funding.
