COVID-19 Update for the Pueblo of Laguna

To date, the Pueblo of Laguna Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has confirmed a total of 29 positive COVID-19 cases within the Pueblo boundaries. The cases are as follows:

-May 27, 2020: (RECOVERED) 3 cases due to exposure from essential work off-reservation.

-May 31, 2020: (RECOVERED) 1 case due to exposure from essential work on reservation.

-June 3, 2020: (RECOVERED) 2 cases. 1 due to non-essential travel and activity in Albuquerque. 1 due to being exposed to a household member conducting non-essential travel and activity in Albuquerque.

-June 10, 2020: (RECOVERED) 1 case due to being exposed to a household member related to the June 3rd case of non-essential travel and activity in Albuquerque.

-June 13, 2020: (RECOVERED) 2 cases. 1 due to exposure from essential work off-reservation. 1 due to non-essential travel and activity in Grants.

-June 26, 2020: (RECOVERED) 1 case due to non-resident tribal member moving back to the Pueblo without prior quarantine and testing.

-July 2, 2020: (RECOVERED) 3 cases. 1 due to a non-resident moving back to the Pueblo without prior quarantine and testing. 2 due to allowing non-resident tribal member to move back to the Pueblo without prior quarantine and testing.

-July 3, 2020: 4 cases (3 RECOVERED). 3 due to a household member who allowed a non-resident to move back to the Pueblo without prior quarantine and testing, then visits another household.   1 due to exposure of essential work off-reservation.

-July 5, 2020: 2 cases due to a household member exposed conducting essential work off-reservation.

-July 6, 2020:  6 cases(2 RECOVERED 1 Deceased). 5 due to non-resident moving back to the Pueblo without prior quarantine and testing. 1 due to exposure while in the hospital.

-July 8, 2020: 1 case due to non-resident moving back to the Pueblo without prior quarantine and testing.

-July 14, 2020: 1 case due to a household member exposed conducting essential work off-reservation.

-July 25, 2020: 1 case due to essential travel to Albuquerque.

-July 26,2020: 1 case due to exposure while attending a church service outside of the Pueblo.

PLEASE NOTE: Some cases are being isolated in various locations to include Buffalo Thunder Resort, EOC RV Trailers, and/or patient homes. COVID-19 Safety Precautions are simple but effective. Remember to wear a face mask, social distance at least 6 feet away from others, wash your hands often with soap and water, do not touch your eyes nose and mouth with unwashed hands, avoid unnecessary travel, especially out of state.

When possible plan your shopping trips ahead of time and utilize curbside/drive up services. COVID-19 will be here for a while, lets do our best to develop safe habits to protect ourselves, our families, and our Pueblo.
