The Indian Health Service has updated its coronavirus testing data, showing results as of 11:59 pm Eastern on May 9, 2020.
According to the data, 55,969 tests have been administered within the IHS system. Of those, 5,255 have returned positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That represents a 1.6 percent increase from the 5,171 cases previously reported.
The slight increase is indicative of a lull that has been seen in the data during weekends. Along the same lines, testing grew by just 1.4 percent between May 8 and May 9. In the weekdays prior, the growth rate hovered around 6.4 percent.
