Stay on track while social distancing

Oklahoma City Indian Clinic promotes well-being tips during COVID-19 pandemic 

 

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit clinic providing health and wellness services to American Indians in central Oklahoma, offers tips for mental and physical well-being during physical distancing at home. 

 

During this 2020 pandemic, many people are staying home to help flatten the curve by not spreading the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. 

 

“When working at home it is beneficial for your mental and physical health to stay close to your normal routine,” Misty Gillespie said, OKCIC’s Behavioral Health Director. “Incorporating your daily schedule, such as sleep habits, activity level, and taking breaks from work, helps with resiliency.”  

 

According to Sleep Foundation, you can stay on track with your at-home routine by having time cues throughout the day, including: 

“Keeping consistent times for meals, bathing, sleeping, working and exercising allows you to feel more of a sense of control.” Gillespie said.
