Pueblo of Zuni (New Mexico)

In a video address on April 3, 2020, Governor Val Panteah of the Pueblo of Zuni confirmed a second COVID-19 positive case within the community.

Panteah urged residents to stay home and travel only when necessary, such as to obtain food and secure medical care. He noted that the nearby city of Gallup, about 38 miles away, is considered a “hotspot” for the coronavirus in the state of New Mexico.

Zuni is even closer to the Ramah Chapter of the Navajo Nation. That small community has 6 positive cases as of April 3.
