The Pascua Yaqui Tribe confirmed the deaths of two citizens from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
The citizens lived off the reservation in Arizona, Chairman Robert Valencia said in a video message on April 2, 2020.
Additionally, three citizens have tested positive for COVID-19. “They’re being quarantined,” Valencia said.
The tribe falls within the Tucson Area of the Indian Health Service.
