TOOL TO REPORT DENIED TESTING FOR COVID-19 LAUNCHES IN WYOMING

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

1 April 2020

WYOMING —

Starting today, any Wyoming residents who experience COVID-19-like symptoms and are unable to get testing will be able to be heard. https://www.untestedwyoming.com , a volunteer open-source project, will allow individuals to report their symptoms, experience and optionally contact info which will be sent to the Wyoming COVID-19 Task for and Governor.

UntestedWyoming comes within a week of the launch of UntestedMontana– which has reported 28 untested individuals since Friday. This comes as Rocky Mountain states struggle to obtain test kits and track the spread of the outbreak. Monday morning on a call with President Trump, Governor Bullock (Montana) was heard saying:

“Literally we are one day away, if we don’t get test kits from the C.D.C., that we wouldn’t be able to do testing in Montana,”

These fears are compounded by reports that many east-and-west coast families are retreating to the rockies to escape areas of greater outbreak.

Both UntestedMontana and UntestedWyoming were created by Nick Schwaderer, programmer and former two-term legislator for HD-14 in Montana. When asked about the reason for the expansion to Wyoming, Schwaderer said:

“This project was built to be replicable in multiple states. Quite simply, we had an enquiry from Wyoming to launch there as well so we did. We sincerely hope this proves as helpful in Wyoming as it is in Montana,”
