Two bills are on the agenda:\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<Div class=mx-5>\r\n<a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/421>S.421<\/a>, the Western Tribal Water Infrastructure Act of 2021. The bill seeks to <a href=https:\/\/www.wyden.senate.gov\/news\/press-releases\/wyden-merkley-introduce-bill-to-improve-water-quality-and-services-for-western-tribes>improve water quality and services for tribal communities<a>  in Oregon and in other   states.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/789>S.789<\/a>, the Repealing Existing Substandard Provisions Encouraging Conciliation with Tribes (RESPECT) Act. The <a href=https:\/\/www.rounds.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/rounds-smith-lead-bipartisan-push-to-repeal-outdated-discriminatory-laws-against-native-americans>bipartisan bill repeals outdated racist and discriminatory   laws<\/a> that were imposed on tribes and their citizens.\r\n<\/div>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nPrior version of both pieces of legislation were advanced by the committee during the last session of Congress.
