<\/p>\r\nSharp, who also serves as president of the Quinault Nation<\/a>, will deliver the speech virtually for the first time. She will discuss priorities for the nation-to-nation relationship between tribal governments and the United States<\/a> and for the advancement of Native peoples.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nThe address will be followed by a Congressional response from Sen. Lisa Murkowski<\/a> (R-Alaska), the recently-named vice chair of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs<\/a>. Last fall, she wrote a critical letter to Sharp<\/a> in connection with an Indian law and policy dispute involving COVID-19 relief funds<\/a>.\r\n
