Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Home of Oglala Sioux Indian Tribe.\u201d They are near the tribe\u2019s northern border, just south of Kadoka in the Badlands along South Dakota State Highway 73.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<div class=\" content_cards_card content_cards_domain_www-facebook-com\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"content_cards_image\">\n\t\t\t\t<a class=\"content_cards_image_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/withkevwecan\/posts\/10157979961648174\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/07\/145024197_10157979961613174_4094712656050896713_n.jpg\" alt=\"Kevin Killer\">\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\n\t<div class=\"content_cards_title\">\n\t\t<a class=\"content_cards_title_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/withkevwecan\/posts\/10157979961648174\">\n\t\t\tKevin Killer\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"content_cards_description\">\n\t\t<a class=\"content_cards_description_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/withkevwecan\/posts\/10157979961648174\">\n\t\t\t<p>Official Statement from President Kevin Killer regarding the vandalism of tribal signs welcoming visitors to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. &#8220;As President of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and former&#8230;<\/p>\n\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/div>\n\t<div class=\"content_cards_site_name\">\n\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/rsrc.php\/y1\/r\/ay1hV6OlegS.ico\" alt=\"www.facebook.com\" class=\"content_cards_favicon\"\/>\t\twww.facebook.com\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\r\n<P><\/P>\r\n\u201cThese signs serve as our welcoming emblems to visitors and guests of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and depict the pride we have for our culture and traditions as a sovereign nation,\u201d   President Kevin Killer said <a href=https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/THEOGLALANATION\/posts\/1287283621644478>in a statement<\/a> on Monday.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n\u201cThe Oglala Lakota Nation would like those individuals responsible to be held accountable for their actions, and be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.\u201d\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nHe said the tribe would replace the two defaced signs.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n\u201cAs a sovereign nation within the boundaries of the State of South Dakota, the Oglala Sioux Tribe continues to extend a hand of friendship to those wanting to make a positive impact on this and future generations,\u201d he said.\r\n<p><\/p><div class=\"mt-1 mb-1\"><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8411603009680747\" data-ad-slot=\"6394965691\"><\/ins><script>(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});<\/script><\/div><p><\/p>\r\nThe vandalism was the second racially charged incident affecting the Pine Ridge Reservation in as many months.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nIn early January, an Oglala Lakota woman claimed to have been attacked by one or more people driving a pickup truck that had a Confederate flag attached to it while driving on a gravel road between Oglala, South Dakota, and Chadron, Nebraska.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nBryan Brewer, former Oglala Sioux president, said he spoke to the woman but he said she refused to talk to Nebraska investigators who were looking into her claims.
