<\/p>\r\nPatients are being welcomed to new $177 million Sage Memorial Hospital<\/a>, a health facility located on the Arizona portion of the Navajo Nation<\/a>.\r\n

<\/P>\r\nThe hospital celebrated completion of the 140,213 square-foot facility in Ganado on August 23<\/a>. Since then, services have been opening in phases, with the emergency department and the outpatient clinic debuting this week following the awarding of a license from the Arizona Department of Health Service<\/a> on Monday.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n\u201cSage Memorial Hospital is the only tribal healthcare facility that is licensed under the state of Arizona,\u201d Chief Executive Officer Melinda White said in a news release<\/a> on Wednesday. \u201cAt SMH, patient safety and quality of care are our top priorities. Achieving hospital certification represents our commitment to planning and maintaining safe, high-quality patient care.\u201d \r\n

<\/p>\r\nSage Memorial features 25 inpatient beds, a state-of-the-art emergency department, advanced medical imaging technology, a pharmacy and operating room. Dietary services, physical therapy and dental care are also offered.\r\n

<\/P>\r\nThe hospital serves a community of about 11,000 people on the reservation. Patients live in the Ganado, Kinlichee, Klagetoh, Wide Ruins, Lower Greasewood Springs, Cornfields, Nazlini, and Steamboat chapters of the Navajo Nation.\r\n

<\/P>\r\nNavajo Health Foundation \u2013 Sage Memorial Hospital, Inc., a non-profit<\/a>, manages the facility.
