Under Secretary Sean P. Duffy, taxpayer dollars are advancing the Department\u2019s core mission of delivering safe transportation systems for American families.\r\n <p><\/p>\r\nThe funding can be used for:\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>New transit vehicles to transport commuters<\/li>\r\n<li>Upgraded bus facilities with state-of-the-art technologies<\/li>\r\n<li>Expanded transit services to reach more communities<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n\u201cUnder President [Donald] Trump and Secretary Duffy, America is building again, including in our Tribal Nations. USDOT is investing tens of millions into developing better infrastructure, promoting economic development, and improving the safety of our transit systems for our Tribal and Alaska Native communities,\u201d\u202fsaid\u202fFederal Transit Administration Chief Counsel Matthew Cahill.  \r\n <p><\/p>\r\n<div class=\"h5-responsive sub\">Additional Information<\/div>\r\nThe FTA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transit.dot.gov\/tribal-transit\">Tribal Transit Program<\/a> supports transit services for federally recognized American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages, groups, or communities. The\u202ffunding is vital to help Tribes meet the needs of young families, senior citizens, and people with disabilities living in Indian Country.\u202f\r\n <p><\/p>\r\nThe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.transit.dot.gov\/notices-funding\/fy-2026-notice-funding-opportunity-public-transportation-indian-reservations\">NOFO<\/a> [Notice of Funding Opportunity]\u202foutlines the application criteria.
