<\/p>\r\nThe Senate Committee on Indian Affairs<\/a> is convening for the first time since the 2020 election and for the first time in nearly two months.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nThe committee will consider four bills at a business meeting on Wednesday<\/a> afternoon. The agenda follows:\r\n

<\/p>\r\n

\r\n• S.790<\/a>, A bill to ensure the Catawba Nation<\/a> can restore its homelands in North Carolina and engage in gaming<\/a> on the land. A hearing took place<\/a> on May 1, 2019.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n• S.3264<\/a>, the Bridging the Tribal Digital Divide Act. The bill expedites and streamlines the deployment of affordable broadband service on tribal lands. A hearing took place<\/a> on September 23, 2020.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n• S.4079<\/a>. The bill authorizes the Seminole Tribe<\/a> to lease or transfer certain non-trust lands in Florida. A hearing took place<\/a> on September 23.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n• S.4556<\/a>. The bill authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Director of the Indian Health Service, to acquire private land to facilitate access to the Desert Sage Youth Wellness Center<\/a> in Hemet, California. A hearing took place<\/a> on September 23.\r\n<\/div>\r\n
