ACCOUNTING:

POST-IMPLEMENTATION REVIEW FOR GASB FAIR VALUE STANDARDS, SURVEY OF USERS OF GOVERNMENT FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

The Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) is currently conducting its Post-Implementation Review (PIR) of Statement 72, Fair Value Measurement and Application. This survey is part of the PIR process, and we seek your feedback on whether and to what degree the information required by the fair value standards is helpful to you as a user of government financial reports.

The PIR process is an evaluation of whether standards are achieving their objectives, including whether they provide financial statement users with valuable information. The PIR process will help the GASB: (1) determine whether the standards are accomplishing their stated purposes, (2) evaluate the implementation and continuing application costs and related benefits of the standards, and (3) obtain feedback to improve the standard-setting process in general.

For more information about the PIR process, please visit the GASB website: GASB Post-Implementation Review Process.

You will be asked to provide information about whether and to what extent you use fair value-related information in government financial reports. The survey should take approximately 10 – 15 minutes to complete. If you cannot complete it in one sitting, please save your progress so you can return to the survey.

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Scott Reeser at 203-956-3448 or sareeser@gasb.org.

Source: Government Accounting Standards Board
Take the Survey

5.
