received the nation\u2019s highest honor<\/a> recognizing work and dedication to enriching the community. \r\n<p><\/p>\r\nPresident Joe Biden awarded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/news\/president-biden-awards-2022-and-2023-national-humanities-medals\">2022-2023 National Humanities Medals<\/a> to Muscogee poet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/award\/joy-harjo\">Joy Harjo<\/a>, long-time Cherokee educator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/award\/robert-martin\">Dr. Robert Martin<\/a>, Potawatomi author and scientist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/award\/robin-wall-kimmerer\">Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer<\/a>, and Tlingit cultural advocate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neh.gov\/award\/rosita-worl\">Dr. Rosita Worl<\/a>. \r\n<p><\/p>\r\nThe awards, in conjunction with the National Endowment for the Humanities, honors individuals and organizations that deepen \u201cthe nation\u2019s understanding of the humanities and broadened our citizens\u2019 engagement with history, literature, languages, philosophy, and other humanities subjects.\u201d \r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nativeamericacalling.com\/native-america-calling-awarded-national-humanities-medal\/\">Native America Calling<\/a> was the first Native organization to receive a National
