The bill allows <a href=https:\/\/www.cantwell.senate.gov\/news\/press-releases\/cantwell-leads-colleagues-in-calling-for-urgent-hearing-on-expanding-fentanyl-addiction-treatment-options>tribal law enforcement officers to receive benefits<\/a> already provided to federal law enforcement. The bill authorizes the acquisition of about 172 acres in trust for the <a href=https:\/\/jamulindianvillage.com>Jamul Indian Village<\/a>. The land is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.padilla.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/padilla-butler-introduce-legislation-to-preserve-jamul-tribal-land\/\">located in San Diego County<\/a> in California. The bill updates a water settlement with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crow-nsn.gov\/\">Crow Tribe<\/a>, headquartered in Montana. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tester.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/tester-daines-lead-charge-to-deliver-clean-water-infrastructure-to-crow-tribe\/\">amendments ensure the tribe has flexibility to develop water and energy projects<\/a> that fulfill the previously approved water settlement. The bill <a href=https:\/\/www.heinrich.senate.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/heinrich-leger-fernandez-introduce-legislation-to-approve-ohkay-owingeh-water-rights-settlement>settles the water rights<\/a> of <a href=https:\/\/ohkay.org\/>Ohkay Owingeh<\/a> in the Rio Chama Basin of New Mexico. A hearing took place on <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2024\/07\/29\/video-legislative-hearing-to-receive-testimony-on-s-4370-s-4505\/>July 25<\/a>, with Governor Larry M.
