<\/p>\r\nThe bill returns about 1,600 acres to the Winnebago Tribe<\/a>, headquartered in Nebraska. The land, located in Iowa, was promised to the tribe by treaty but was later illegally condemned and taken by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers<\/a>.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nH.R.1240 was approved by unanimous consent. Since the bill already passed the U.S. House of Representatives<\/a>, it can now be sent to President Joe Biden for his signature.\r\n
