POLICY: <\/EM><\/div>\r\n<div class=\"h5-responsive sub\">TRIBAL CONSULTATION FOR REPORT ON TRIBAL PENSION ISSUES<\/div>\r\nLast week, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced a Tribal Consultation on the TTAC Subcommittee on Parity and Reform\u2019s Project Plan and Report on Tribal Pension Issues.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\nThe consultation will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, from 1-3 p.m. ET\r\n<P><\/P>\r\n<div class=\"card border border-primary shadow-0\">\r\n<div class=\"card-body\">\r\nFrom the Treasury\u2019s Office of Tribal and Native Affairs Director, Fatima Abbas:\r\n<P><\/P>\r\nDear Tribal Leader,\r\n<P><\/P>\r\nI am writing to share the attached <a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/system\/files\/136\/DTLL-TTAC-Subcommittee-on-Parity-and-Reforms-Project-Plan-and-Report-on-Tribal-Pension-Issues.pdf\">Dear Tribal Leader Letter<\/a> on behalf of the Treasurer of the United States. The Treasurer invites you to a Tribal consultation on the Treasury Tribal Advisory Committee (TTAC) Subcommittee on Parity and Reform\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/system\/files\/136\/TTAC-Pensions-Subcommittee-Work-Plan-March-2023.pdf\">Project Plan and Report on Tribal Pension Issues<\/a> (Report). This consultation will be held virtually on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, 1 \u2013 3 p.m. ET. \r\n<P><\/P>\r\nThe Report is a work product of the TTAC. It highlights issues that Tribal employers have raised under the Pension Protection Act of 2006 (PPA \u201806), including related provisions under section 414(d) of the Internal Revenue Code (Code) and section 3(32) of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) and contains proposed recommendations.
