They follow:\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\n<a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/70>S.70<\/a>, the Tribal Trust Land Homeownership Act of 2023. The bill <a href=https:\/\/www.thune.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/2021\/12\/thune-smith-rounds-tester-introduce-legislation-to-encourage-homeownership-across-indian-country>accelerates the review and processing of home mortgages<\/a> by  <a href=https:\/\/www.bia.gov\/>Bureau of Indian Affairs<\/a>, which is part of the <a href=https:\/\/www.doi.gov\/>Department of the Interior<\/a>. \r\n<\/li>\r\n <li>\r\n<a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/277>S.277<\/a>, a bill to place about 721 acres in California in trust for the <a href=http:\/\/www.palatribe.com\/>Pala Band of Mission Indians<\/a>. The land includes sacred and important places  in and around Gregory Mountain. A companion version &#8212; <a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/house-bill\/423>H.R.423<\/a>, the Pala Band of Mission Indians Land Transfer Act &#8212; <a href=https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/news\/2023\/02\/06\/republican-controlled-house-set-to-approve-first-indian-country-bills\/>already passed the House<\/a> on February 6. <\/li>\r\n <li>\r\n<a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/385>S.385<\/a>, a    bill to amend the Native American Tourism and Improving Visitor Experience Act, also <a href=https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/news\/2016\/09\/26\/president-barack-obama-signs-bill-to-pro.asp>known as the NATIVE Act<\/a>. The NATIVE Act requires federal agencies to update their existing <a href=https:\/\/www.indian.senate.gov\/news\/press-release\/schatz-more-21-million-new-federal-tourism-grants-native-communities>management plans and tourism strategies to include American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nThe meeting takes place in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen  Office Building.
