FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES:<\/em><\/div>\r\n<div class=\"h5-responsive sub\">CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND APPLICATIONS<\/div>\r\nThe Department of the Treasury announced an extension for tribal governments to submit funding requests for their <a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/policy-issues\/coronavirus\/assistance-for-state-local-and-tribal-governments\/capital-projects-fund\/cpf-fund-for-tribal-governments\">Capital Projects Fund<\/a>. All applications must now be submitted by October 14, 2022.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nAccording to the Department, the Capital Projects Fund is set up to address the following goals:\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Directly support recovery from the COVID-19 public health emergency by strengthening and improving the infrastructure necessary for participation in work, education, and health monitoring that will last beyond the pandemic.<\/li>\r\n<li>Enable investments in capital assets designed to address inequities in access to critical services.<\/li>\r\n<li>Contribute to the Administration\u2019s goal of providing every American with the modern infrastructure necessary to access critical services, including a high-quality and affordable broadband internet connection.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nIf you have questions about the Capital Projects Fund Application Portal, need technical support, or have general questions about the Capital Projects Fund: CapitalProjectsFund@treasury.gov. CHECK THE NEW DEADLINE FOR REFUNDS<\/div>\r\nRefunds are still available to people who were tricked into wiring money to scammers through Western Union between January 1, 2004, and January 19, 2017. In fact, the deadline to file a claim has been extended. If you didn\u2019t file a claim for a refund yet, you now have until August 31, 2022 to file. The refunds are part of a $586 million settlement Western Union reached with the FTC and Department of Justice in 2017 for allegedly violating the law by failing to guard against fraud in its system.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nIf you got a prefilled claim form in the mail \u2014 showing eligible dollar loss amounts, based on the report(s) you filed with Western Union \u2014 you can use it to submit your claim.
