<\/p>\r\nThe Senate Committee on Indian Affairs<\/a> meets for a legislative hearing on July 20, 2022<\/a>. \r\n

<\/p>\r\nThree bills are on the agenda for the hearing, which takes place at 2:30pm Eastern in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. A webcast is available on indian.senate.gov<\/a> — the video feed will go live shortly before the proceeding.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n

Agenda<\/div>\r\n•\r\nS.4104<\/a>, the Haulapai Tribal Water Rights Resettlement Act of 2022. The bill ratifies a water rights settlement between the Haulapai Tribe<\/a>, the state of Arizona and the federal government.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n• S.4439<\/a>, the Katimi\u00een and Ameeky\u00e1araam Sacred Lands Act. The bill transfers about 1,031 acres of federal land in northern California into trust for the Karuk Tribe<\/a>.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n• H.R.5521<\/a>, the Urban Indian Health Confer Act. The bill amends the Indian Health Care Improvement Act<\/a> to establish a formal policy in which all agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services<\/a> confer with urban Indian organizations on laws and policies affecting urban Indians. Currently, only the Indian Health Service<\/a> has such a policy. The U.S. House of Representatives<\/a> passed the bill on November 2, 2021, following consideration on November 1<\/a>.\r\n
