<\/p>\r\nOn Monday, at 2pm Eastern, the Joe Biden for President<\/a> campaign will hold a virtual event celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day<\/a>. \r\n

<\/p>\r\nThe event will feature remarks from (D-Kansas) and Rep. Deb Haaland<\/a> (D-New Mexico). Davids and Haalands, who are seeking re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives, are the first Native women to serve in Congress<\/a>.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nTribal leaders are also scheduled to participate. The event will include President Fawn Sharp<\/a> of the Quinault Nation<\/a>, President Bryan Newland<\/a> from the Bay Mills Indian Community<\/a> and Chairman Cedric Cromwell of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe<\/a>.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nSen. Elizabeth Warren<\/a> (D-Massachusetts) and Pete Buttigieg<\/a>, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, will provide remarks. Warren and Buttigieg sought the Democratic nomination for president before supporting Biden.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nFinally, the Indigenous Peoples Day celebration features musical performances from Levi Platero<\/a>, Supaman<\/a> and the Cozad Singers<\/a>.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n“The celebration will be an opportunity to share the Biden-Harris Plan for Tribal Nations<\/a>, highlight the Obama-Biden record of working with tribal governments and communities and mobilize Indian Country to get involved in the campaign and support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” the campaign said in an advisory.\r\n
