The bill requires the federal government to investigate the Indian boarding school era<\/a> through a Truth and Healing Commission on Indian Boarding School Policies in the United States and a Truth and Healing Advisory Committee. A hearing before the House Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States<\/a> took place on May 12<\/a>.\r\n

<\/P>\r\n• H.R.6063<\/a>, a bill to authorize the U.S. Court of Federal Claims<\/a> to hear a land claim from the Miami Nation<\/a>, headquartered in Oklahoma. The tribe has a treaty-based claim to 2.6 million acres in the state of Illinois. <\/p>\r\n• H.R.6181<\/a>, the Samish Indian Nation Land Reaffirmation Act. The bill confirms the acquisition of 6.7 acres in Washington in trust for the Samish Nation<\/a>. A hearing before the House Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States<\/a> took place on April 27<\/a>.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n• H.R.6707<\/a>, the Advancing Equality for Wabanaki Nations Act.
