<\/p>\r\nRutherford Falls<\/em><\/a>, the groundbreaking television show featuring Native talent and Native writers, is back for a second season.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nThe new season begins streaming on the Peacock platform<\/a> on June 16. Sierra Teller Ornelas<\/a>, a citizen of the Navajo Nation who helped create the sitcom, is promising plenty of laughs for viewers across Turtle Island.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n\u201c\u2019Rutherford Falls\u2019 is back! Get ready to laugh, cry, and swoon,” said Ornelas, who in addition to being a co-creator serves as executive producer, showrunner and a writer for the series.\r\n

<\/P>\r\n“Do people still swoon? Well, they will now!” Ornelas exclaimed. \r\n

<\/p>\r\nRutherford Falls<\/em> is set on a fictional town and on a fictional reservation. The cast includes Jana Schmieding<\/a>, a citizen of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, and Michael Greyeyes<\/a>, who is Plains Cree from the Muskeg Lake First Nation.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nOrnelas, whose television credits<\/a> include Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>, Happy Endings<\/em>, Splitting Up Together<\/em> and Superstore<\/em>, created Rutherford Falls<\/em> along with Ed Helms, who stars in the show, and Mike Schur. All three are part of the second season.\r\n

<\/p>\r\n“Ed Helms, Mike Schur, and I had an absolute blast making a show that’s heartfelt, laugh-out-loud funny, and depicts Native Americans in ways you never see on television,” Ornelas said “Also, a lot of people get punched\/kicked in the face.”\r\n

<\/p>\r\n“We hope you enjoy Season 2!” said Ornelas.\r\n
