<\/p>\r\nThe Senate Committee on Indian Affairs<\/a> is meeting on Wednesday afternoon for an oversight hearing.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nThe hearing focuses on Indian programs at the Department of Energy<\/a> (DOE). The committee is set to hear from a panel of federal witnesses, including David Conrad<\/a>, a citizen of the Osage Nation<\/a> who is serving as both the “acting director” and “acting deputy director” of the Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs<\/a> at DOE.\r\n

<\/P>\r\nThe hearing takes place immediately following a business meeting at 2:30pm Eastern in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building in Washington, D.C. The meeting focuses on the nomination of nomination of William “Billy” Kirkland<\/a>, a citizen of the Navajo Nation<\/a>, to serve as Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs<\/a>, a political position at the Department of the Interior<\/a> (DOI).\r\n
