2. FOR TRIBAL LEADERS:<\/EM><\/div>\r\n
TODAY: WHITE HOUSE COUNCIL ON NATIVE AMERICAN AFFAIRS TRIBAL LEADER ENGAGEMENT SESSION<\/div>\r\nThe White House Council on Native American Affairs (WHCNAA) invites you to meet with WHCNAA leadership<\/a> on January 31, 2022, 1:00pm \u2013 3:30pm EST.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nAs WHCNAA co-chair, U.S. Department of the Interior Secretary Deb Haaland will convene the two and a half-hour engagement session between the WHCNAA and Tribal leaders. The first half of the session will focus on the Economic Development, Energy, and Infrastructure Committee of the WHCNAA and explore the implementation of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/a> (BIL). \r\n

<\/p>\r\nThe second half of the session will focus on the Public Safety and Justice Committee of the WHCNAA and its implementation of the Executive Order on Improving Public Safety and Criminal Justice for Native Americans and Addressing the Crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People<\/a> (November 15, 2021).\r\n

<\/p>\r\nDuring the January 31, 2022, session, Tribal leaders will be asked to share their guidance, recommendations, and perspectives on the WHCNAA Committees\u2019 efforts on the BIL and the Executive Order. The virtual engagement will also provide a valuable opportunity for federal agencies to share information about existing resources, plans for upcoming consultations, and insights into planned work over the coming months.\r\n

3. GRANTS: <\/EM><\/div>\r\n
GRANTS TO PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR RURAL TRANSPORTATION (RT) SYSTEMS<\/div>\r\nUSDA is inviting applications for grants to provide Technical Assistance for passenger Rural Transportation (RT) systems under the Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) program and the terms for such funding. See the Federal Register Notice<\/a> for more information.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nThis funding announcement will also be announced on Grants.gov. Applications must be submitted to the USDA Rural Development State Office where the Project is located. 4. FOR STUDENTS<\/EM><\/div>\r\n
AMERICAN INDIAN COLLEGE FUND FULL CIRCLE SCHOLARSHIP KICK-OFF WEBINAR<\/div>\r\nThe American Indian College Fund provides scholarships to American Indian and Alaska Native college students seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees at tribal colleges, nonprofit, and accredited schools.\r\n

<\/p>\r\nAny Native American U.S. citizen that is a member or descendant of a state or federally recognized tribe with at least a 2.0 grade point average, and enrolled as a full-time student can apply for a scholarship.\r\n
