FOR TRIBAL LEADERS:<\/em><\/div>\r\n<div class=\"h5-responsive sub\">WHCNAA TRIBAL LEADER ENGAGEMENT SESSION, JANUARY 31, 2022, 1PM &#8211; 3:30PM EST<\/div>\r\nThe White House Council on Native American Affairs (WHCNAA) will host its first engagement session with Tribal leaders on January 31, 2022, as announced by WHCNAA co-chair Secretary Haaland at the 2021 White House Tribal Nations Summit.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\n Following this inaugural session, WHCNAA-Tribal leader engagement sessions will occur three times a year, in addition to the Tribal Nations Summit. GRANTS:<\/em><\/div>\r\n<div class=\"h5-responsive sub\">ACCESS TO ANCESTRAL LANDS GRANT OPPORTUNITY<\/div>\r\nFirst Nations First Nations is now accepting applications under the <a href=https:\/\/www.firstnations.org\/rfps\/california-tribal-fund-access-to-ancestral-lands-grant-opportunity\/>Access to Ancestral Lands grant opportunity<\/a> within the California Tribal Fund.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\nFirst Nations expects to award 12 to 15 grants averaging $35,000 to California-based tribes or tribally-controlled non-profit organizations as they work toward strengthening California-based Indigenous stewardship and protection of ancestral lands. The purpose of the grant is to increase California Tribal people\u2019s access to ancestral homelands.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\nThis grant is made possible through the generous support of the Elizabeth R. &#038; William J. Patterson Foundation, the Clarence E. Heller Charitable Foundation, the Conrad N.
