<\/p>\r\nThe bill places about 76 acres in Tennessee into trust for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians<\/a>, headquartered in North Carolina. The lands included significant cultural and historic properties that are currently managed by the federal government. \r\n <\/P>\r\nH.R.2088 was approved by the House Committee on Natural Resources<\/a> during a markup on October 13<\/a>. A prior version of the bill<\/a> passed the House during the 116th Congress but did not advance in the U.S. Senate<\/a>.\r\n <\/p>\r\nFollowing consideration of H.R.2088, a Republican member of the House requested a recorded vote on the bill.
