They follow:\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n<div class=mx-4>\r\n&#8226; <a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/648>S.648<\/a>, the Technical Correction to the Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation Water Rights Settlement Act of 2021.  The bill makes technical corrections to perviously enacted water rights settlement for the <a href=https:\/\/shopaitribes.org\/spt\/>Shoshone-Paiute Tribes of the Duck Valley Reservation<\/a> in Nevada and Idaho in order to help the tribes <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2021\/06\/29\/house-subcommittee-hears-from-shoshone-paiute-tribes-on-water-rights-settlement\/>recover interest that was lost on their funds<\/a> held in trust at the <a href=https:\/\/www.doi.gov\/>Department of the Interior<\/a>.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n&#8226; <a href=https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/senate-bill\/1911>S.1911<\/a>, the Gros Ventre and Assiniboine Tribes of the Fort Belknap Indian Community Water Rights Settlement Act of 2021. The bill ratifies a <a href=https:\/\/ftbelknap.org\/water-compact>water rights compact<\/a> for the <a href=https:\/\/ftbelknap.org>Fort Belknap Indian Community<\/a>, based in Montana.\r\n<\/div>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nThe committee is scheduled to hear from three witnesses, including Bryan Newland, who was recently <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2021\/08\/09\/senate-confirms-bryan-newland-to-serve-as-assistant-secretary-for-indian-affairs\/>confirmed to serve as the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs<\/a> at <a href=https:\/\/www.doi.gov\/>the Department of the Interior<\/a>.
