Other sections affect management of federal lands within ancestral and sacred tribal territories, with the reconciliation outright canceling plans for a <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2021\/05\/13\/cronkite-news-religious-groups-join-fight-to-protect-sacred-apache-site\/>huge copper mine<\/a> on <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2021\/04\/08\/bill-to-permanently-protect-sacred-apache-site-up-for-first-hearing\/>sacred Apache land<\/a> at <a href=http:\/\/www.apache-stronghold.com\/>Oak Flat in Arizona<\/a>.\r\n<P><\/p>\r\n<div class=row><div class=col-10>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/02\/hnrcbudgetreconciliation.pdf\" class=\"pdfemb-viewer\" style=\"\" data-width=\"max\" data-height=\"max\" data-toolbar=\"both\" data-toolbar-fixed=\"on\">hnrcbudgetreconciliation<\/a><\/div><\/div>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nThe provisions, as well as the budget reconciliation, are considered to be a <a href=https:\/\/hnrdems.medium.com\/the-build-back-better-act-giving-americans-a-fair-return-from-the-fossil-fuel-industry-25668dd5e083>part of the Build Back Better Act<\/a> that was purposed by President Joe Biden. Democrats in Congress are <a href=https:\/\/hnrdems.medium.com\/the-build-back-better-act-a-stronger-cleaner-american-economy-that-fights-climate-change-f5e9c64c67f1>supporting the agenda<\/a>, which includes billions of dollars for Indian Country.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\n\u201cOur piece of reconciliation puts our country on a more sustainable economic and environmental path, creates millions of jobs and directly confronts the damage being done by climate change all at the same time. It\u2019s the best investment we\u2019ve made in our country in a long time,\u201d Democrats on the House Committee on Natural Resource said in a <a href=https:\/\/hnrdems.medium.com\/the-build-back-better-act-a-stronger-cleaner-american-economy-that-fights-climate-change-f5e9c64c67f1>blog post<\/a>.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nAccording to the post, the investments include:<p><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>$1 billion for tribal climate resilience and adaptation\r\n<li>$500 million for a   Tribal Civilian Climate Corps\r\n<li>$100 million for tribal wildfire management\r\n<li>$2.7 billion for   Indian water rights settlements\r\n<li>$2 billion for health facility construction, maintenance  and improvement in Indian Country\r\n<li>$500 million for tribal housing improvements\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nA separate <a href=https:\/\/hnrdems.medium.com\/the-build-back-better-act-giving-americans-a-fair-return-from-the-fossil-fuel-industry-25668dd5e083>blog post<\/a> explains the ways in which revenues will be raised by the U.S. government<\/a> to pay for the historic investments in Indian Country and in other areas.
