Emily Randall<\/a> (D-Washington) offered an <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/bills-119-hr2556-r000621-amdt-6revisedtoans\/>amendment to ensure tribes are consulted<\/a> about developments that affect their coastal resources.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n\u200a&#8221;Tribal nations in the Pacific have treaty rights that guarantee them access to their usual custom fishing areas and tribal nations along the coast of the United States, as far as Florida, also deserve to be consulted as we undertake any work that disrupts our ocean landscape,&#8221; said Randall.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n&#8220;Any actions taken within these areas should include consultation with tribes who may be impacted,&#8221; added Randall.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\nAll Republicans on the committee voted against the <a href=https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/bills-119-hr2556-r000621-amdt-6revisedtoans\/>Democratic-led amendment<\/a>.
