Symptoms include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/coronavirus\/in-depth\/coronavirus-long-term-effects\/art-20490351\">persistent headaches, fatigue, shortness of breath, and memory and concentration problems<\/a>. In addition to the personal and medical burdens, several studies indicate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yalemedicine.org\/news\/long-covid-keeps-people-out-of-work-and-hurts-the-economy\">global financial drain from long COVID is anywhere from $1 trillion to $6 trillion<\/a>. \r\n<p><\/p>\r\nThe Donald Trump administration just announced it is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/03\/24\/trump-administration-shuttering-office-of-long-covid-research-and-practice-00246836\">closing the federal office that facilitates research and information-sharing<\/a> among medical institutions on long COVID.\r\n<p><\/p>\r\n <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2021\/11\/22\/dvids-nez-perce-tribe-gets-help-with-health-care\/the-nez-perce-tribe-and-idaho-national-guard-work-together-during-covid-19-5\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-18426\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1805\" data-attachment-id=\"18426\" data-permalink=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/2021\/11\/22\/dvids-nez-perce-tribe-gets-help-with-health-care\/the-nez-perce-tribe-and-idaho-national-guard-work-together-during-covid-19-5\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/News\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/22\/6948078-scaled.jpg\" data-orig-size=\"2560,1805\" data-comments-opened=\"0\" data-image-title=\"Nez Perce Tribe\" data-image-description=\"&lt;p&gt;Nez Perce Tribe&lt;\/p&gt;\n\" data-image-caption=\"&lt;p&gt;Idaho National Guard medical and dental citizen-Soldiers and Airmen teamed up with Nez Perce healthcare personnel as part of a larger effort to recover from the summer\u2019s surge of COVID-19 cases plaguing northern Idaho. Through a program known as Innovative Readiness Training, the Idaho National Guard is helping the Nez Perce community\u2019s healthcare system recover after becoming backlogged during a community-wide shut down earlier this year. They performed three missions\u2014a two-part diabetic IRT in June and October, a medical IRT in August and most recently a dental IRT on Nov. 10 \u2013 13, 2021, which resulted in dental screenings of nearly 250 Nez Perce school-aged children.
