The designation was sought by the  <a href=https:\/\/www.kictribe.org\/>Ketchikan Indian Community<\/a>, a federally recognized tribe.\r\n<p><\/P>\r\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fsubsistencealaska%2Fposts%2Fpfbid02QYYseNZYXtLTkizegUqstWxi9heKFdx7ehLa6BJZ5xJw69f8E7gmAg1k3LvEBCQal&#038;show_text=true&#038;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"683\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\"><\/iframe>\r\n<P><\/P>\r\nMeanwhile,  the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/alaska-fights-federal-approval-of-emergency-subsistence-hunt-for-native-village-in-ninth-circuit\/\">state of Alaska is fighting the Federal Subsistence Board&#8217;s approval of a COVID-era emergency subsistence hunt<\/a> for citizens in Kake.
