The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Isleta-Grill-100057117263210\/\">Isleta Grill<\/a> is this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/statefair.exponm.com\/p\/participate\/competitions\/green-chile-cheeseburger-challenge\">Green Chile Cheeseburger Challenge Champion<\/a> for their frybread version of a regional delicacy.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\n\r\nIn northern Wisconsin, this year\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/dnr.wisconsin.gov\/newsroom\/release\/113291\">wild rice yields are low<\/a>. The state Department of Natural Resources blames wind damage and heavy rainfall from a series of strong storms. It\u2019s part of a pattern of <a href=\"https:\/\/glifwc.org\/exercising-treaty-rights\/seasonal-harvest-regulations\/wild-rice-regs#annual-harvest-outlook\">diminished wild rice harvests<\/a> in recent years.\r\n<P><\/P>\r\n\r\nCherokee people cross-bred and cultivated apple varieties when they lived in the southeast U.S. But when the federal government forced a majority of Cherokees to move to Indian Territory (Oklahoma), they left their orchards behind.
