Supporters of Leonard Peltier responded to recent FBI activity aimed at preventing President Clinton from pardoning the jailed activist. Putting the efforts to free Peltier into greater issues of American Indian rights, prominent supporters of Leonard like Paul DeMain, publisher of News From Indian Country called the FBI effort an attempt to hide the truth.
