Editorial: Arctic drilling irresponsible

MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2001 In an editorial today, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer criticizes the House for voting to approve drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge but opposing stricter fuel efficiency standards. The paper says the vote was "careless" and "high-priced." The paper says the Senate, which hasn't yet considered the issue, should stop drilling and "restore sanity to the nation's energy policies."
