FEBRUARY 1, 2001 A public hearing on the controversial whale hunt of the Makah Nation of Washington takes place in Seattle this evening. The public will comment on four options laid out by the National Marine Fisheries Service regarding the hunt. The NMFS says it can't ignore the treaty-reserved right of the tribe to hunt.
