THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 2002 The lead plaintiff in the billion dollar trust fund lawsuit rallied with tribal leaders yesterday to support independent oversight of Indian assets. Elouise Cobell has asked a federal judge to appoint a receiver, or independent officer, to watch over the funds of 300,000 American Indians.
