Still new to the job, McCaleb was eager to take on the many challenges that are a regular part of the job. But so far, he's been getting a lot of support and praise from the lawmakers who pushed his confirmation through the Senate and from the public who await his first major decision as head of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The lucky school was the Tiospa Zina Tribal School in South Dakota. Located on the Sisseton-Wahpeton Reservation, the school, like many others, is in the midst of a construction project aimed at replacing the old buildings that are part of the $1 billion backlog of repairs and maintenance Norton's department has to tackle.
