Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius proclaimed Native American Month during a celebration on Wednesday.

Sebelius was joined by tribal leaders and officials from Haskell Indian Nations University. The state participated in a meeting of the Joint Committee on State-Tribal Relations and promised better cooperation with tribes.
