American Indian leaders in Nebraska are seeking more study of the Wounded Knee massacre of 1890 in order to help reconcile race relations in South Dakota

The state has adopted a set of standards in order to help students understand Indian history and historical figures. But some educators, Indian and non-Indian, say the effort is not enough.
