AOL sues Microsoft over web browser
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23, 2002 AOL TimeWarner sued Microsoft Corp. in federal court on Tuesday, alleging its web browser was unfairly damaged by the latter's business practices. AOL wants Microsoft to pay damages suffered by the Netscape Navigator browser. The Navigator was the most used browser until Microsoft started giving away Internet Explorer for free. A federal appeals court ruled Microsoft was in violation of anti-trust laws and AOL is hoping to make good on the finding. AOL bought Netscape in 1999. Get the Story:
