Redskins told to pick new name
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2002 By a vote of 10-2, with five members abstaining, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments passed a resolution today calling on the Redskins football team to choose a name not offensive to Native Americans.
