Redskins uniforms changed, for now
WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2002 The Washington Redskins will be sporting new outfits this year but team officials were quick to point out the removal of the Indian head has no bearing on the controversy over the name. The uniforms are being changed to commemorate the team's 70th anniversary. They have an old "spear-and-feathers" logo from the 1960s. When the year is up, the Indian head will return. Get the Story:
